Question Tag หมายถึง รูปประโยคที่มีประโยคคำถามสั้นๆอยู่ท้ายประโยคบอกเล่าหรือท้ายประโยคปฏิเสธ เราต้องจำวิธีตั้งประโยคคำถามอย่างนี้ 1. เมื่อประโยคหน้าเป็นบอกเล่า Question Tag ต้องเป็นปฏิเสธ ด้วยเหตุผลว่าผู้พูดหวังได้รับคำตอบ Yes. 2. เมื่อประโยคหน้าเป็นปฎิเสธ Question Tag ต้องเป็นบอกเล่า ผ้พูดหวังได้รับคำตอบว่า No. 3. การเขียนประโยคต้องใส่ Comma คั่นระหว่างประโยคหลักกับ Tag เสมอ 4. Question Tag ต้องเป็นกริยาช่วยเสมอ 5. หากไม่มีกริยาช่วยในประโยคหลัก ต้องใช้ do, does, did มาช่วย 6. กริยาช่วยใน Question Tag ต้องใช้รูปย่อเสมอ ไม่มีรูป amn't I ต้องใช้ aren't I แทน 7. กริยาช่วย ต้องเปลี่ยนตาม Tense ที่ประโยคหลัก 8. ประโยคคำสั่ง ขอร้อง เชื้อเชิญ Question Tag ต้องใช้ will you? เราต้องจำไว้ว่าในการทำ Question Tag ทำอย่างนี้ 1. เมื่อประโยคหน้าขึ้นต้นด้วย That is, This is ส่วน Question Tag ใช้ isn't it? หรือ is it 2. เมื่อประโยคหน้าขึ้นต้นด้วย There is/ are/ was/ were ส่วน Question Tag ต้องใช้ V. to be ตามประธานและ Tense + there 3. เมื่อประโยคหน้าขึ้นต้นด้วย These/ Those are ส่วน Question Tag ใช้ aren't they หรือ are they แล้วแต่กรณี 4.

He rarely comes here, does he? – I seldom got asleep, did I? – Few students can solve the problems, can they? – They hardly spoke to anyone, did they? 11. หากประโยคเป็นประโยคซับซ้อน (complex) เรามักจะใช้ Verb ในประโยคหลัก (Main Clause) ใน Question Tags ทั้งนี้ทั้งนั้น ก็ขึ้นอยู่กับว่าเราต้องการเน้นที่จะบอกหรือพูดถึงสิ่งใด If I did my homework, I wouldn't be punished, would I? He said he would talk to her, didn't he? I think we should go now, shouldn't we? วิธีการตอบประโยค Question Tags เรามักใช้ yes หรือ no เข้ามาช่วยในการตอบ แล้วตามด้วย Subject (ประธาน) และ Auxiliary Verbs (กริยาช่วย) เช่น She is beautiful, isn't she? Yes, she is. / No, she isn't. They didn't study for the exam, did they?
